Beth El Temple Presents: Shabbaton Weekend with Rabbi Lauren Tuchman in honor of Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion [Image of Head of Pharaoh Statue] Month Confronting Our Inner Pharaoh: What do we struggle to let go of? Friday, January 31 Dinner following services $22/person RSVP to Amy at amy@bethelhbg.org or 717 232-0556 by January 29 Saturday, February 1 Rabbi Tuchman will be speaking during services In Parashat Bo, we witness the final three plagues, as well as Pharaoh's continual constriction of the heart. Enveloped by his own story, he is unable to hear, see, or sense the suffering of his own people and of the Israelites. In our own lives, it is easy to find ourselves feeling our own constriction, noticing those places where we really struggle to let go and face what is hard. Torah can meet us here, too. Just as the story of the Exodus is the Jewish people's collective foundational spiritual paradigm for how we understand ourselves, so, too, can it serve this purpose in our lives individually. Join Rabbi Lauren Tuchman for a weekend of deep learning and heart-centered contemplative practice. Together, we will explore this pivotal parsha and invite ourselves to unearth its messages for our lives as individuals and as a community.
