For as long as there have been humans, we have been differently abled from one another. Come explore texts from different times and places when different rabbis and Jewish laypeople made revolutionary decisions about the treatment of people with disabilities. In assessing these parts of our history, we will learn more about what the evolving Jewish tradition teaches us about our responsibilities towards individuals with disabilities today. This class will be taught by Rabbi Jonah Rank, the President & Rosh Yeshivah of Chicago’s pluralistic Hebrew Seminary: A Rabbinical School for Deaf & Hearing. As always at Base, expect snacks and drinks and great conversation
