Sparks of Enlightenment: CHANUKKAH

Join Hebrew Seminary, in partnership with SketchPad and Repair the World for a Chanukkah lunch-and-learn complete with a selection of vegetarian Chinese cuisine (please note: not kosher-certified), sufganiyot and latkes.
Hebrew Seminary Rosh Yeshivah, Rabbi Jonah Rank, will be teaching: Who is the Light For? Chanukkah When the World Feels Dark.
For thousands of years, the Jews have welcomed the winter with the warm luminous flames of Chanukkah. This joyous holiday has accompanied the Jewish people in times of peace and in times of hardship. What significance does our Festival of Lights have in a world where so many cultures host their own holidays of light? Together we will explore how Chanukkah shares unique messages with the world today.
Following our lunch-and-learn, we will join Repair the World to decorate bookmarks for Liberation Library, an organization that empowers impacted young people in developing imagination and hope through literacy.
With Repair the World, we will be collecting toys that will be donated to UCAN to support youth and families in their foster care and residential programs. See their online registry for recommended toys.
